What We Do

Junior Potters

This program, also supported by PAL, provides free baseball training to boys and girls from low–income families living in Lincoln.

About The Program

A non-competitive, team-oriented program, the Junior Potters is designed to educate targeted local youth about the game of baseball while emphasizing life skills, including health, safety, teamwork, and character building.  This co-ed program is free to qualifying boys and girls from Lincoln schools; participants are nominated by their teachers based on their need for additional community support.

Junior Potters 2024

2024 includes two camps: one in the Summer and one in the Fall. Participation is limited to 50-100 kids who will participate in camps led by Lincoln Potters baseball players and coaches. The Junior Potters program unites the Lincoln Police Activities League (LPAL), the Lincoln Potters Baseball Club, and the City of Lincoln Recreation Department, with support from the Friends of McBean Stadium in a joint effort to educate targeted local youth about the game of baseball. Specifically, Friends assists with the day-to-day logistics, recruitment of sponsors, and provides in-person assistance at camps.

Junior Potters 2023

For the 2023 season, participation was limited to 50-100 players, who participated in multiple camps led by Lincoln Potters baseball players and coaches. The Junior Potters program is a partnership between the Lincoln Police Activities League (LPAL), the Lincoln Potters Baseball Club, and the City of Lincoln Recreation Department, with support from the Friends of McBean Stadium. Specifically, Friends will assist with day-to-day logistics, recruit additional sponsors, and provide in-person assistance, when needed, at camps.
