A non-competitive, team-oriented program, the Junior Potters is designed to educate targeted local youth about the game of baseball while emphasizing life skills, including health, safety, teamwork, and character building. This co-ed program is free to qualifying boys and girls from Lincoln schools; participants are nominated by their teachers based on their need for additional community support.
Typically, 50-100 players participate in multiple camps led by Lincoln Potters baseball players and coaches. The Junior Potters program is a partnership between the LPAL, the Lincoln Potters Baseball Club, and the City of Lincoln Recreation Department, with support from the Friends of McBean Stadium. Specifically, Friends assists with day-to-day logistics, recruits additional sponsors, and provides in-person assistance, when needed, at camps.
